When you're looking for something comforting to eat, nothing fits better than a nice plate of pasta carbonara. Not only is it packed with a creamy sauce and sprinkled with crispy bacon, but it's an easy dish to cook and you often have everything you need in your kitchen. This version adds some protein to the dish, making pasta with chicken carbonara the perfect, quick and easy dinner for any day of the week.


400 g fettuccine pasta

4 slices of bacon

3 minced garlic cloves

250 g chicken fillet, cut into strips

Salt and black pepper to taste

4 large eggs

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

chopped parsley to taste

How to prepare Pasta with chicken carbonara

First, cook the pasta in plenty of salted water until al dente. Drain the pasta, reserving 1 cup of the water.

While the pasta is cooking, in a large skillet over medium heat, fry the chopped bacon in its own fat for about 5 minutes.

Add the garlic and cook until the bacon is crispy.

Place in a bowl and drain half of the fat from the skillet.

Add the chicken to the skillet and increase the heat to high.

Season generously with salt and black pepper and let the chicken strips cook until golden brown, about 10 minutes.

Then lower the heat again and return the bacon to the skillet.

Mix and then add the cooked pasta.

In a small bowl, beat the eggs, parmesan and parsley; season with salt and pepper.

Pour the egg mixture over the noodles and mix until well coated.

Finally, add a few tablespoons of the pasta water until creamy. Sprinkle with more grated cheese and parsley and serve immediately.
